How to register with KODA.

Register with KODA, Denmark's society for songwriters, composers, and publishers, to collect performance and mechanical royalties on your works in Denmark and internationally.

Become a KODA Member

Apply at koda.dk. KODA charges a one-time admission fee of approximately DKK 812.50 (confirm the current amount on their site).


You will need:

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Danish CPR number if you have one (not required for non-residents)
  • Bank account details

    • KODA administers both performance and mechanical rights for compositions.

    Why this matters

    KODA collects from Danish broadcasters, venues, and streaming services and distributes internationally through reciprocal agreements.

    Common mistake

    Assuming membership is free like some Nordic societies. KODA has a one-time admission fee — budget for it.

    Register Your Works

    Declare each composition in the KODA portal with title, duration, co-writer splits and IPI numbers, and ISRC codes for each recording.

    Why this matters

    KODA pays on registered works only. Add ISRCs so Danish streaming reports match your compositions.

    Common mistake

    Registering titles without ISRCs, which breaks streaming royalty matching.
